Immediate implantation is also medically feasible nowadays. In this procedure, the dental implant is inserted into the jawbone immediately after tooth loss – completely without any waiting time. This brings several advantages for patients:

  • Shorter treatment: The duration of the entire treatment is shortened by immediate implants.
  • Fewer interventions: The number of surgical procedures is kept to a minimum.
  • Faster than before: The aesthetics and function of the teeth are quickly restored.
  • Faster healing: This procedure promotes faster healing.
  • Bone preservation: The jawbone can be immediately loaded again, which minimises bone loss.

1. Diagnosis and planning

We measure your jawbone and plan the exact position of your implant. To do this, we use a digital volume tomography (DVT) scan.

2. Implantation

We are inserting the implant into the jaw.

3. Provisional crown

Now we will immediately fit a provisional crown onto the implant. This will restore the function and aesthetics of your teeth straight away.

4. Healing phase

Following this procedure, your implant must integrate into the jawbone. This healing phase usually takes 3–6 months.

5. Final crown

After the healing phase, you will come into our practice once more and we will fit the permanent crown. This prosthesis is fixed..

What to do in the event of extensive tooth loss?

Implants can be used even in cases of extensive tooth loss.

For this, we use the All-on-4 or All-on-6 procedure. In this method, a complete bridge is anchored in the jaw using 4 or 6 implants.

The implants are made of titanium and the metal-ceramics of zirconium oxide or tooth-coloured titanium-based composite. 

This also provides our patients with a permanent, secure solution. Chewing and speaking function just like before the tooth loss, and visually, too, the dental prosthesis looks like real teeth.

An implant procedure is never feasible whenever you do not have enough bone volume or your gums are not healthy.

In the first case, we can use a sinus lift and bone augmentation (surgical procedures) to “build up” your bone. The dental implant can then be placed into the bone mass created in this way and will also remain permanently secure there.

The materials used for bone augmentation are autogenous bone, synthetic bone substitutes, or other biocompatible materials.

I haven't seen a dentist for years because something always didn't suit me. Then I got really severe toothache and my search began anew. I came across Dr Bobb on Docnet and, because of my pain, managed to get an appointment for the very next day. What can I say? Everything was just right from start to finish. The reception by the ladies at the desk was very friendly and Dr Bobb's calm manner took away a lot of my fear. The procedure itself wasn't entirely straightforward, but everything went extremely well and there were no nasty surprises afterwards either. Definitely an absolute recommendation from me.

Friendly, objective, precise, every movement deliberate and skilful. Seemed very modern in terms of materials and methods too, as far as I can judge. I have rarely experienced such a good dentist. The practice is ultra-modern and well run, billing via the ÖGK works too. Prices are also OK for the quality. Also entirely OK for children.

I wanted to have a CT scan report looked at by a dentist before the weekend, and even though I'm with the ÖGK, Dr Arnold was kind enough to take the time and explained the reports to me in detail so I was able to get a clear picture. Very friendly and competent!

My daughter is an anxious patient through and through. Dr and the entire team were so empathetic that my daughter can hardly wait for her next dental appointment. Every question was answered with care and chosen words, which I thought was particularly great. My daughter was afraid of the X-ray, they took their time and explained every step to her. We recently switched to the Zahnärzte am Campus because my daughter needed a special treatment.

Right from the first appointment, it was clear to me that we were in the right place.
Dr Salamon specialises in children, and you notice that immediately; she is professional, calm, very empathetic and has a wealth of experience that inspires confidence. She really takes her time and explains precisely what is going on and what the next steps are.
What I particularly liked is the transparency. The costs, especially for private or SVS services, are explained openly and comprehensibly, and no unnecessary additional treatments are suggested, with no hidden surprises.

Compared to our previous experiences, my daughter's treatment here was carefully planned right from the start. The consultation was honest and easy to understand; it was clearly stated what makes sense and is safe at this age, without any detours or expensive extra services. The cooperation with the anaesthesia team was also very pleasant, empathetic, professional and completely straightforward.
The surgery itself is modern, clean and really pleasant. Because of my daughter's good experiences, I eventually stayed for my own check-up and treatment, and the work there was also very thorough and professional.
Additionally, clinic assistant Alina impresses with her extremely friendly manner and professional demeanour. Vivienne was also very accommodating and carried out an excellent dental hygiene treatment.
The location has good transport links; it is best to travel by public transport as there is hardly any parking in the surrounding area, and it is about a five-minute walk from Praterstern.

Recently, my children and I visited the new practice of Zahnärzte am Campus, and we were all impressed. The practice is modern, very well-maintained, and has a play/drawing corner with a bookshelf for children. While my little daughter was busy playing, Dr. Salamon treated my five-year-old daughter's teeth. She was incredibly competent, empathetic, and patient with us. Dr. Salamon and her assistant explained every step to us and worked in such a way that they took away my daughter's fear of dental appointments. The practice team is also very friendly and helpful. Overall, highly recommended!

I went there this lunchtime because a tooth sometimes hurts slightly when chewing. Dr. Bobb was super nice and explained everything to me in detail. Everyone at reception was also very nice and it's a really beautiful practice. Highly recommended!

I was already a patient of Dr Agnes Salamon before she opened her own practice. Today was my first time in her own, new practice. Ground floor access, nice reception area, friendly greeting at reception, comfortable waiting area, modern and technically top-equipped. A piece of my amalgam filling had broken off. Professional amalgam restoration with a rubber dam was performed. Afterwards, a new filling was made. Dr Agnes Salamon has already performed several root canal treatments and fitted 2 crowns on me. I was genuinely scared of root canal treatments. However, she was always very attentive and always worked gently in my mouth. I trust her knowledge and manual skills.

FAQ – Implantology & Dental Implants Vienna

Implantology refers to the insertion of dental implants into the jaw. The implants are inserted into the jawbone and replace the tooth root of the missing tooth. A denture, bridge or crown is then placed onto this implant. We work with immediate implantology, whereby the replacement teeth can be inserted directly after the tooth has been lost.

There are removable dentures, but also permanent solutions where the denture is firmly anchored in the jaw. This is precisely the method we have specialised in. Here, a type of screw is anchored in the jaw and a realistic-looking dental prosthesis is then fitted. This method is also possible in cases of extensive tooth loss (All-on-4 or All-on-6 procedure).

For individual teeth, you can expect about one to two hours. For the All-on-4 or All-on-6 procedure, you should allow several hours.

Thanks to the anaesthesia, the procedure (both immediate implantation and All-on-4/All-on-6) is largely pain-free. The minor discomfort (mild pain, slight swelling) that may occur after the procedure is easily manageable with painkillers.

This is 3–6 months. During this time, the implant firmly integrates into the jawbone.

Especially in the first few days after the operation, you should avoid alcohol, hot, sticky or sharp-edged foods, and cigarettes. After the procedure, we will provide you with detailed information on what you need to bear in mind.
