Dental Hygiene Vienna – Professional teeth cleaning at the dentist
Dental Hygiene Vienna – Professional teeth cleaning at the dentist
Professional dental hygiene is a thorough cleaning of the teeth and gums that goes significantly beyond daily dental care. Even with careful brushing, plaque remains in the spaces between the teeth or along the gum line. This is precisely where professional teeth cleaning comes in.
In our dental surgery in 1020 Vienna, oral hygiene is carried out by trained specialist staff. In doing so, we gently and systematically remove plaque, tartar and discolouration. The aim is to prevent inflammation and keep your teeth healthy in the long term.
As a preventative measure, oral hygiene is an important part of dental care. It reduces the risk of tooth decay and gum disease, and supports the stability of dentures or implants. At the same time, it contributes to a clean mouth-feel and a well-groomed appearance. We would be happy to advise you personally on how often oral hygiene is advisable in your case.

Course of treatment
We check the condition of your teeth and examine which areas have plaque, tartar and staining that cannot be removed with a toothbrush.
We remove all deposits on the teeth. This includes hard deposits such as staining and tartar as well as soft deposits (plaque).
Now our team cleans the spaces between your teeth so that deposits and plaque are professionally removed here too.
To finish up, we will polish your teeth and carry out an air-polishing treatment.

What are the benefits of a professional dental cleaning?
What are the benefits of a professional dental cleaning?
You can benefit in several ways from a professional dental clean at the dentist:
- stubborn deposits are also removed from areas that are difficult to reach with a toothbrush
- polishing smooths the teeth, thereby making the re-accumulation of plaque more difficult
- the teeth look brighter, as discolouration caused by nicotine, coffee, tea & co. is removed
- Bad breath can be reduced
That is what we as a dental practice rely on for oral hygiene
We clean your teeth and interdental spaces thoroughly and professionally. This is an important step in the prevention of tooth decay and periodontal disease.
Our entire team regularly undertakes further training in all areas of dentistry – including professional teeth cleaning. This means you can achieve a radiant smile and a clean mouth feel in just one appointment.
As a private dentist, we can offer our patients one luxury in particular: time. Time for questions, for concerns and for proper oral hygiene in Vienna's 2nd district.
During oral hygiene, a local anaesthetic can be used for relaxation.
What is the purpose of professional dental cleaning in Vienna?
What is the purpose of professional dental cleaning in Vienna?
Your own toothbrush is good, but unfortunately it doesn't manage everything. It is used for the daily cleaning of the teeth, but does not manage to remove plaque, tartar, bacterial deposits and discolouration in all places.
And that is precisely what professional dental hygiene is for. During this treatment, we gently remove everything that doesn't belong on the teeth and is difficult to reach or impossible to remove with a toothbrush. This also reduces the risk of gum inflammation (gingivitis) and tooth decay.
Professional dental cleaning therefore has two functions: prophylaxis and comprehensive, professional cleaning.

When is professional dental hygiene particularly important?
When is professional dental hygiene particularly important?
In some cases, plaque and tartar build up particularly quickly. This is especially true for braces, dentures, implants and certain pre-existing conditions. Professional oral hygiene is therefore particularly important in these cases.
Apart from these examples, a visit to the dentist for oral hygiene is recommended 1–2 times a year for everyone.
This is what matters to us regarding oral hygiene in 1020 Vienna
We want you to leave our practice with a bright, fresh smile. Therefore, we ensure optimal results at every stage of your treatment.
Professional dental cleaning in Vienna is a gentle yet effective treatment for thoroughly cleaning the teeth.

Dental cleaning as preventative healthcare

During the professional dental cleaning in Vienna, we also check the general condition of your teeth. This enables us to detect any potential diseases at an early stage.
Furthermore, such treatment also serves as a prophylactic measure: inadequate oral hygiene can lead to inflammation of the gums and subsequently to periodontitis. This in turn can promote further diseases, such as cardiovascular diseases.
By getting a professional dental cleaning in Vienna, you are therefore contributing to your overall healthcare. Our team will be happy to advise you in more detail on this subject during your visit. Just speak to us!

Oral hygiene in Vienna –
Protection for gums and teeth
Regular oral hygiene not only supports the cleaning of the teeth, but also protects against diseases such as periodontitis. Bacterial plaque accumulates particularly along the gum line, which is often not completely removed with daily care. If this plaque remains, the gums can become inflamed and suffer long-term damage.
With a professional dental cleaning, we target and remove hard and soft deposits – even with sensitive gums or existing pre-existing conditions. Professional oral hygiene is particularly important for patients with braces, as plaque builds up more quickly around brackets and wires. Thorough cleaning of the gum line is also crucial at the first signs of periodontitis.
If you would like to book your dental hygiene in Vienna, you can easily book an appointment online or contact our clinic directly. We would be happy to advise you personally on how often a professional cleaning is beneficial for your gums. Get in touch – we will support you with long-term prevention against periodontitis and also accompany you during brace treatment.
